Evergreen of Johnson City's History

     It was 1983 when 11 acres of land on Princeton Road were purchased by the Valk family, on which a new Johnson City facility would be constructed. A groundbreaking ceremony took place in March of 1984 attended by Evergreen Founders Auke and Sarah Valk.

   The initial site layout of Evergreen of Johnson City was created to include an extensive tree & shrub department, a retail store for hard-good products, and eight 100' x 21' greenhouses. A staff of knowledgeable and friendly associates was hired to provide Evergreen's customers with assistance for a wide range of gardening and home landscaping needs. The service of landscape design and installation also began at this time.

Evergreen of Johnson City has become the area's most complete and most trusted garden center and landscape company.  Our retail site has grown to include an even more extensive Tree & Shrub Department than originally dreamed, and now includes unique gift and home decor ideas.  We have added five additional 120' greenhouses,  as well as twenty 50' stock houses to assist in managing the enormous amount of seasonal stock.
